Parade for Veterans at Downtown Orlando.

Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Orlando on Saturday 9th November 2013 with Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council to commemorate local veterans and those who are now in active service. Veterans organisations from all over Central Florida together with marching bands and floats will make up the parade which will take place at 11am - 1pm. Downtown Orlando.

Dreamflight making Disabled Children Happy in Florida.

I came across a news report about a charity called Dreamflight which send a group of seriously ill and disabled children to Orlando every year from the UK.

A quote from their web site follows...

Dreamflight is not just a holiday. The children leave their families behind giving them an opportunity to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Often for the first time, these children realise that they are not alone, and they are not the odd one out. They see children around them who have also suffered, they gain perspective, and experience things they never thought possible.
